Westfalia to Showcase Automated Parking Solutions at AIA Philadelphia's Forum on Architecture and Design

WHAT:
The Forum on Architecture + Design is AIA Philadelphia's regional education and expo conference. The Forum focuses on curating multidisciplinary educational content for designers, civic leaders, product manufacturers, technology providers, and real estate developers - all the industries that contribute to shaping our built environment.
WHO:
The way we park our cars is undergoing a transformation. While navigating vast lots or gigantic parking garages has been the norm, crowded cities can no longer accommodate parking in this way. Developers and designers are increasingly specifying a more sophisticated manner of parking vehicles that is known as automated parking systems (APS).
Westfalia Technologies, Inc., a leading supplier of automated parking systems worldwide, is a sponsor and will be showcasing its APS at the Forum. In addition, Forum-goers are invited to attend free 20-minute nano sessions for LU credits at Westfalia’s booth.
This introductory-level course about Project Planning and Design describes the benefits of automated parking systems, including environmental, space savings, development savings and operating cost savings. Different types of APS will be explored, and the process of specification will be explained.
Learning objectives include:
- Discussion of land design challenges in large urban areas due to increasing number of automobiles and less available space.
- Describe how innovations in APS are changing urban land-use patterns.
- Assess the space-saving, user-experience, safety and environmental benefits of APS.
- Explain the benefits of APS to property developers and owners in terms of cost, space, labor and energy savings as well as the benefits of specifying such a system in a project
