Ian is the EVP of Automated Parking Systems with over 20 years’ of sales, marketing, product development, project management and business development experience. He holds a MS in Engineering Project Management, along with a BE in Naval Architecture and Small Craft Engineering. From Europe to the US, working with architects and developers around the world has given Ian expert knowledge and valuable skills that allow him to deliver reliable results and exceed customer expectations. Ian’s main focus at Westfalia includes assisting lenders, developers and architects with effectively solving parking problems, and implementing the various advantages of APSs.

Drew Johnson
Business Development Associate, Automated Parking Systems
Drew is an experienced Business Development Associate and APS expert. His background includes obtaining a BS in Business Management from Wilmington University, which is where his passion for sales development was born. Drew excels at communicating the benefits of Westfalia’s APSs with developers and architects, as well as educating them on why and how APSs are the best solution for their projects. Drew’s strong customer service skills integrated with his expert knowledge makes him a designated source for all APS related questions and outreach, engaging the market, generating leads, and always making sure to answer any urgent inquiries promptly and clearly.

John Schmiesing
Senior Project Manager, Automated Parking Systems
John has over 20 years of industrial automation experience. He has a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a MBA. John’s professional career began with project engineering and led to project management. His knowledge of automation equipment implementation, as well as his scheduling and financial acumen ensures customer satisfaction. Since joining Westfalia initially in 2006, then again in 2019, he has contributed strong communication skills, system knowledge and a passion for delivering custom solutions. John fosters strong relationships with suppliers and customers to capture growth opportunities. He is proud to be a part of Westfalia’s 500 Walnut Street parking garage project because it encompassed engineering detail, unique automation solutions, and dedicated customer communication.

Marty Mattia
Senior Project Manager, Automated Parking Systems
Martin (Marty) Mattia is a seasoned professional with 30+ years of industrial/automotive automation experience. In addition to holding both a B.S. in Manufacturing Engineering and a M.S. in Engineering Management from the University of Michigan, Marty is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), skilled in managing complex projects. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with international engineering firms and successfully delivered high-profile projects exceeding $100M in value. Marty has a strong track record in building relationships with customers and co-workers and is excited to return to the automated parking field to contribute his expertise and passion for innovation.

Roger Thompson
Senior Controls Systems Engineer, Automated Parking Systems
As a Senior Control System Engineer, Roger specializes in control system hardware specification and design. His background includes a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering followed by 20 years of industrial control experience. In his 8 years working at Westfalia, Roger’s expert development, configuration, and integration knowledge has provided reliable and functional APS control systems that optimize user experience. His passion for PLC software development and commissioning lends to enhanced aftermarket support as well as flexible electrical and mechanical implementation. Roger works directly with contractors and architects to ensure customers receive unmatched quality systems, and particularly loved redesigning Satellite® control for palletless APS designs.

Justin Gentile
Field Service Technician, Automated Parking Systems
Justin has been bringing expert mechanical and electrical skills to Westfalia since joining the Field Service team in 2019. Justin has continued to grow his knowledge in the mechanical field for over 7 years after earning a degree in Mechatronics. He specializes in advanced APS motor and controls troubleshooting, along with repairs and preventative maintenance. Justin's passion for automation technology and equipment support made him a valuable asset in the development of the 500 Walnut Street parking garage project, where he supplied preventative inspections, customer support, and system modifications.
Cameron Flemmens
Controls Engineer, Automated Parking Systems
As a Controls Engineer, Cameron is passionate about guiding customers through APS development and design decisions. Cameron specializes in evaluating electrical controls performance along with clearly communicating the process of ongoing projects. Westfalia’s newly designed conveyor system proved to be a fascinating technical piece, sparking his desire to lead more projects from start to finish. Always eager to improve his skills and education, Cameron is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Engineering Management at Penn State.
Kevin Gramlich
Mechanical Engineer, Automated Parking Systems
Kevin has been bringing exceptional project and planning execution skills to the APS team since joining in 2021. His attention to layout detail, drawings and modeling makes him a key technical point of contact for customers. The mechanical design expertise he demonstrates is crucial for making unfeasible projects possible by implementing uniquely flexible automated solutions for current and prospective systems. Kevin’s background includes a BS of Mechanical engineering from Pennsylvania State University.
