When architect Mike Rosen received a mandate to explore every cutting-edge, futuristic, energy-saving technology possible for a multifamily development in Lansdale, Pennsylvania, few would have predicted that one of the chosen technologies—an automated parking system (APS)—would end up making the project not only possible but also profitable.
The APS made it pencil out, without it, it would not have worked. Because the automated parking takes less volume, on the ground level, we were able to pick up 17 live/work units, on grade and accessible to the street. So all of a sudden, real estate that was previously occupied by parking now looked like townhomes, which improved the streetscape - Mike Rosen, Progressive AE, an architecture and planning firm headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan
For developers and architects, automated parking garages can change the entire balance sheet of a project.
Westfalia Technologies, Inc. invites you to complete our online continuing education course on Automated Parking Systems Demystified. Westfalia, in conjunction with Architectural Record Academies of Digital Learning, is offering a certified course that answers the Who, What, When, Where, Why, and How questions about this innovative technology. Join fellow architects in learning about what features are built into an automated parking system for reliability and redundancy as well as the benefits of a contactless system in the time of COVID-19.
Whether you prefer to take an online course or would like a member of our team to present Lunch & Learn style, all you have to do is click on the corresponding button below to select which course style you prefer. We look forward to teaching you about automated parking.
